Chair Yoga Exercise Classes (Gentle Yoga, Stretch, Strengthening with Chair as Prop) with Carol Leitner
This class is for both beginners and those with some experience. We do a large range of postures and stretches which work to keep the spine flexible and healthy. Gentle forward bends, back bends, side bends, spinal twists both seated on the chair, and standing using the chair as a prop.
We use light weights to strengthen, blocks, dynabands and power loops. We also work on creating better balance in each class, essential for aging healthfully. Class begins with an opening centering to draw us out of the body and into the mind. Class ends with a guided meditation to relax us from head to toe.
**Registration is required.
**POB residents may register using their POB Library card beginning November 10
**Non-residents may register beginning November 17
Registration instructions:
For POB library card holders: Click the “Register” button. Enter your library card number, then click
“Next.” Verify the name and birthdate listed. For grade, select the “Adult” option, then click “Next.”
Verify the email and phone number listed, then click “Submit.”
For Non-Residents: Click the “Register” button. Leave the library card field blank, then click “Next.”
Enter your first name, last name, birthdate and select the “Adult” option under grade, then click “Next.”
Enter your email address and phone number, then click “Submit.” You will receive a notification that
you are on the Waitlist. If there is space available, library staff will complete your registration.
Once registration is successfully completed, you will receive a confirmation email that includes the Zoom
link, Meeting ID and Passcode.
