Beginner Watercolor with Preetam Potnis - In Person 8-Week Art Classes

Online Calendar Registration Required – Wednesday, November 24, 2021 – Plainview Residents Only – Library Card Required.  Twelve person limit.

Artist, Preetam Pontis, will capture the freshness & beauty of nature on paper teaching simple watercolor techniques.

Materials Needed:  - It might be less expensive to purchase a watercolor set from Michaels.  The violet color would need to be purchased separately.  
Watercolor paints (Winsor & Newton): cadmium yellow medium hue, cadmium red, Windsor violet, Colbalt blue, burnt sienna, raw umber, cadmium orange, permanent green, alizarin crimson, raw sienna, and ultramarine blue.   

Watercolor paper: minimum size 11”x15”, 12” x 16” or any size larger that you have (cold press, at least 140lb.)

Watercolor brushes (Winsor & Newton Cotman)

 One big flat brush

 Round brushes No. 0, 2, 6, 8 with a nice point at the tip 

2 jars for water

Sponge

Palette or tray for mixing colors
Pencil and eraser (putty eraser is better)

Masking tape

Board for stretching paper (optional)
Paper towels

 

Registrants can download and print a picture of the beautiful daisy watercolor picture from our online calendar that they are going to paint.  If you are unable to print at home, please feel free to come to Community Services at the Library to pick up your picture before December.
