The partnership of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe is one of the most successful in the history of the American musical theatre, surpassed only by that of Rodgers and Hammerstein. Their Broadway musicals include Brigadoon, Paint Your Wagon, Camelot and what is considered one of the best stage musicals of all time, My Fair Lady. They also wrote the score for the film Gigi, winning an Academy Award for the title song. This talk, with presenter Marc Courtade, will showcase their musicals, filled with the lush melodies of Frederick Loewe and the perfect lyrics of Alan Jay Lerner.
