Event Details
In this weekly lesson students will learn basic skills and beyond. Subjects covered will include the physical properties of the instrument, how to interpret and read tablature and chord boxes, and how to play 2 to 4 chord songs. Ben has developed a warm-up method that covers many subjects at once, and you will be able to incorporate classical, rock, folk, and other fingerstyle techniques with fun surprises along the way. Using a plectrum, or a pick, is part of this method, so please attend with one if you can. Students with brand new instruments and players with no experience are advised to have someone help them tune the guitar before logging on, at least prior to the first lesson. Our class environment is encouraging and friendly and if you cannot attend all the lessons in sequential order, it is not an issue. Many of our beginners who began four years ago like to attend both classes (Advanced and Beginner) as our conversations and listening sessions make for an entertaining morning with friends.
