From a humble childhood to a successful career as a popular artist’s model, French artist Suzanne Valadon (1865–1938) defied
the odds to become a successful, self-taught painter. Valadon was the first self-taught woman to exhibit at the French Salon breaking
new ground with her unapologetic portraits and nudes. Professor Thomas Germano will present a zoom lecture about this important painter’s life and work.
