Mexican Prints at the Vanguard explores the rich tradition of printmaking in Mexico—from the eighteenth century to the mid-twentieth century. Prints highlighted in the exhibit include those by artists José Guadalupe Posada, Diego Rivera, and José Clemente Orozco.  These prints enforce how graphic arts were central to the artistic identity and practice in Mexico of addressing social and political issues. Professor Thomas Germano will present a visual lecture discussing this current exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
