Event Details
Cellist Julia Kang and pianist Misuzu Tanaka present a recital highlighting the cello’s expressive range across Classical, Romantic, and modern repertoire. The program features the operatic charm of Beethoven’s delightful variations on a theme from The Magic Flute, Fauré’s Élégie with its deep pathos, exuberant romanticism in Mendelssohn’s Cello Sonata No. 2, and fiery, rhythmic intensity in Piazzolla’s Le Grand Tango. Together, the works offer a rich musical journey of contrast, color, and storytelling. The two musicians regularly perform together as part of Trio Confero (clarinet-cello-piano) and are delighted to share their artistry this time as a cello-piano duo.
