Frans Hals - In-Person Lecture

Frans Hals was one of the most sought-after painters of his generation. A gifted artist whose deft brushwork was unparalleled, Hals earned his reputation with a new style of ‘loose brushwork’ portraiture.  The National Gallery and The Rijks Museum will host the first major retrospective exhibition of Hals in more than thirty years.  Professor Thomas Germano will present a visual lecture related to this exhibition and the life and work of Frans Hals.
