Event Details

Entering grades 5-12.  Make books to help seniors who have aphasia, which is the loss of ability to understand or express speech, as they recover.  The books will also be used to spark memories in seniors who have experienced memory loss.  Images and themes (television shows, games, years, animals etc...) will be provided.  All completed books will be donated to senior centers.

All registered participants are asked to pick up a craft kit, in the Family Center, the materials that will be needed to complete this program.  Additionally, there will be a link provided for an instructional video.  All completed books will need to be returned to the Family Center by Monday, August 9, 2021.  Each registered participant will earn two hours of community service credit for watching the video and returning a completed book.  Please note, scissors, a glue stick, and a pencil are needed for this program.
