Billie Holiday – In-person lecture

Join Jack Schnur for a special program celebrating the legendary Billie Holiday, one of the greatest jazz vocalists of the 1930s and 1940s. She will be heard performing alongside legendary bandleaders such as Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, and Count Basie.  Highlights include her iconic renditions of “God Bless the Child,” “Summertime,” and the haunting “Strange Fruit,” among many others. The program will also include a memorable duet with Louis Armstrong from the film New Orleans.
